James Robertson, the Florida death row inmate whose story was featured in the Netflix documentary "I Am A Killer", remains alive. After the documentary aired in 2018, many people wrote him letters showing sympathy for his story.
James decided to believe in a purpose for his life, despite the difficulties, and began writing a book in which he narrates his childhood and adolescence in the third person, before going to prison at the age of 17 for a minor crime, which turned into major crimes inside the prison, not allowing him to leave.
All the facts that James narrates in his book are true, in the story he is the boy Donny. James changed his own name and that of the other characters to have more freedom when writing, in addition to preserving the identity of those involved.
The book will be published independently in 2023, so James can write freely and uncensored.
The death row inmate who would like to be remembered as "somebody that always speaks the truth", seems to achieve this goal, by telling in his narrative peculiar facts without fear of criticism and judgment.
